Ready to mark your calendar for important dates? zlien has a complete holiday schedule ready for you, including dates county recorders, USPS, FedEx, and zlien's Support and Operations will be closed or have limited hours. This post covers the 2018 holiday schedule, and can help you avoid delays!
What to KNOW
zlien - Days that zlien is listed as closed means our Support and Operations will be unavailable for the day. Users can still access their accounts to manage projects, exchange lien waivers and order documents at anytime, regardless of the holiday. While users can still create documents, any order placed on days without Support and Operations will be processed within the typical 2-5 business day processing time once business hours resume. Rush processing for orders will be upheld within one business day after business hours resume.
USPS - On days that USPS is listed as closed, post offices will not be open or accepting mail. Mail will not be picked up, in transit, or delivered throughout the country. This can mean recent mailings around holidays with USPS listed as closed can have a delay in delivery or pickup. Pro tip: Want to make sure your document is sent to other stakeholders as soon as possible, even if there's a chance of USPS delay? You can send your document electronically to email addresses, in additon to sending it via mail!
FedEx - zlien utilizes FedEx to send documents to counties who do not offer e-recording. On days that FedEx is listed as closed, packages will not be picked up, in transit, or delivered. This can mean documents sent to counties around the holidays may experience delays or slower turnaround.
County Closures - County official offices, such as recorders, clerks, and sheriffs, will often be closed or have limited staff during holidays. Most mechanic liens and releases are filed through county offices, and during holidays can have an especially slow turnaround time or delays. This is especially important to keep in mind when up against a lien deadline.
DON'T LET HOLIDAYS AFFECT YOUR DEADLINESHolidays are an exciting time, yet they can put pressure on your deadlines! Be sure to stay on top of your deadlines and file early, especially when an upcoming holiday is just around the corner. External factors, such as severe weather and holidays, can delay a document's recording or service. zlien recommends adding the rush feature to your order if your deadlines is upcoming in the next 10 days, and it is always a good idea to consider this feature when holidays are right around the corner.
